I waited patiently for the Lord
He inclined and heard my cry
He brought me up out of the pit
Out of the miry clay

He set my feet upon a rock
He made my footsteps firm
Many will see, many will see and fear

I will sing, sing a new song
I will sing, sing a new song

How long, to sing this song?
How long, to sing this song?
How long, how long to sing this song?

Psalm 40:1-3

I waited patiently for the LORD; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry.

2 He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock,And established my steps.

3 He has put a new song in my mouth--Praise to our God;Many will see it and fear,And will trust in the LORD. NKJV

Psalm 6:2-3

Have compassion on me, Lord, for I am weak. Heal me, Lord for my body is in agony.

3 I am sick at heart. How long, O Lord, until You restore me?

I'm aware of this Hewson character. Wonder what happened. Maybe nothing.

i didn't comment about this song for a while cause it makes me "feel" so many things.
the part of that song that gets me is when we are asking God how long? i think that it gets me cause sometimes i wish that it would be this very second that Jesus would come back and stop all the insanity that is happening in this world we live in, but then i remember his patience, and that he waited for me to get it . so then i think that in my lil world there are many more i hope "get it" before he comes back. sometimes when weighed down by the world it just feels good to cry out how long?? i like the fact that you chose to pair this song with your grace is enough because that is the truth.

Paired with the communion made for a very special message of strengthening us when we come to his table. This time of remeberance and thanks has become more and more impactful to me over the years with just how wonderful a gift Jesus gave. It's amazing.
