While waiting for theBean to finish her 2nd Thursday shift, I decided to experiment a bit with the layout of theConundrum... & try to expand my knowledge of html.

Up at 4:40 for some coffee & to look at the sleeping family. Hmm. Peaceful. They look so cute when they're asleep, too. Being away from family is the hardest part of this trip, & its never more difficult than the last night before leaving. The morning departure looms, the unknowns of the 13 day voyage & separation lurk. All we want to do is & be with each other & hang out in our cubby sitting on the couch with a glass of red at the end of the day... it is one of the sweetest things in life. Actually reminds me of when theBean & I were dating. Minus the red, of course, as theBean was only 17 at the time. And I said, "Whoooaaahhh!"
The ticket I'm flying on is a 'free' ticket, in that I used my airmiles to get the ticket - which means 3 legs to the trip - Reno to Denver to Chicago to Frankfurt. But with the price of airtravel (& considering how long it takes to walk to Germany,) I'll take the inconvenience as a challenge, & enjoy free wifi in 2 airports, snarf a couple of Mickey D's double-cheeseburgers (the breakfast of champions. And lunch. And dinner today,) & then sleep fitfully for 5 or more hours on the last flight - pray for scoey to sleep well, & to dream of what is right now unknown...
When I get home, Thanksgiving will be right around the corner. That means ribs are coming! Woohoo.
I spent the last 90 minutes walking - throughout the B concourse in the Denver airport, stopping only for nature's call & a cup of Verona. Nice. I'm going to go walk some more, as sitting for 12 hours on planes is a great way to get your body cramped up.
I'll post when I can - thanks for your prayers.

My template is on the move... away from the coffee theme... I liked the coffee cup... but its html was ragged, & left quite a bit to be desired. In searching, I thought this one was worth a test drive, & that the flames match the shirt I got from Earl W. Nash for my berf-day. Not that I think I'm all hard-core or anything like that.
Feeling a bit more introspective than usual - might be because its a day off, & that gives my brain the opportunity to bounce things around without being obscured by The Task at Hand.

I read a friend's post about New Years Resolutions - esp. the part about wanting to stop living as a "people pleaser."
It inspired a thought, which has led to the planning of a post on people pleasing - this is not that post. THAT post will be coming soon. But for now, a few questions to ponder, & answer if you'd like.
-What would you say a "people pleaser" does that makes them a "people pleaser?"
-What situations do you find yourself most tempted to fall into "people pleasing?"
-What person/persons would you say that you're most tempted to try to "please"?
-Who do you think ends up paying the greatest cost or experiencing the biggest loss as a result of the decision(s) to "people please?"
-What has been personally helpful to you in stopping the cycle of "people pleasing?"
-What has been personally most difficult for you in attempting to stop?

To explain - My friend Tim is a white boy. A nice white boy. And, I am something of a "namer" (a person that gives nicknames to others.) I was speaking some Spanish (spanglish may be a better description) to Tim's daughter, & I was inspired to call Tim, Teeeeeeem, with a really bad Three Amigos meets Cheech Marin accent.

The 'idea' that has been posited by James Cameron et al isn't a new one IDEA - many have attempted to discredit Christ & His followers using poorly & selectively researchd "Science, Archaeology, & the thoughts Old Dead Guys." Its the case of starting with an agenda & creating a case to try & validate it.
The Apostle Paul addressed those that were saying that there was no resurrection of the dead - they had largely based these thoughts on a belief that the physical body was inherently sinful & that only the spirit was pure - Paul points out that the resurrection of Christ is the cornerstone of the Christian faith - without which we "are the most miserable people in the world." Loons. Delusional. To be pitied.
But that's not the case.
1Corinthians 15:14-23
14And if Christ was not raised, then all our preaching is useless, and your trust in God is useless. 15And we apostles would all be lying about God, for we have said that God raised Christ from the grave, but that can’t be true if there is no resurrection of the dead. 16If there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised. 17And if Christ has not been raised, then your faith is useless, and you are still under condemnation for your sins. 18In that case, all who have died believing in Christ have perished! 19And if we have hope in Christ only for this life, we are the most miserable people in the world. 20But the fact is that Christ has been raised from the dead. He has become the first of a great harvest of those who will be raised to life again.
21So you see, just as death came into the world through a man, Adam, now the resurrection from the dead has begun through another man, Christ. 22Everyone dies because all of us are related to Adam, the first man. But all who are related to Christ, the other man, will be given new life. 23But there is an order to this resurrection: Christ was raised first; then when Christ comes back, all his people will be raised..
On that same note - take a look at the following excerpt from an article by philosopher, academic, & deep thinker Ravi Zacharias - it addresses the reality of Christ's resurrection using the evidence of the lives of the ones who witnessed it:
One thing is historically incontestable: the disciples went to their deaths proclaiming the resurrected Christ. And it is here that it seems we are left with common sense questions. For if the disciples agreed to propagate a story, having even the slightest bit of intelligence, wouldn't they have thought to conceive something less remarkable--perhaps a story that would accommodate the arguments they would undoubtedly face? Why wouldn't they have come up with something unfalsifiable? If they would have only claimed that Jesus had spiritually risen again, how would the antagonists have proven them false? And in so doing, they would not have to worry about hiding the body or about what would happen to them if the body was ever discovered. Furthermore, if the disciples agreed to propagate a story, when standing up for these falsified claims became a matter of life and death wouldn't at least a few of them have buckled?
But the disciples did not say that Jesus spiritually rose from the dead, and nor did they back down when the time came to stake their lives on it. They took the dangerous road--indeed, the inconceivable road--and they not only went to great lengths to proclaim that Jesus bodily rose from the dead, but they went to their deaths proclaiming it was true. Now why would they risk everything proclaiming the actual, physical resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead if they knew it was a lie?

Why am I such a suit hater ? I'm not a suit hater, I just could never think of any good reason for any sane person to wear a suit in the first place.
Exactly what purpose does a suit serve ? Why in the world are so many people required to wear a suit to work ? Do the clothes make the man or woman in the western world today ? Does wearing a tie make us work harder or smarter ? Is this a conspiracy by the clothing, fabric or dry cleaning industry to take our money ?
Or are we all just lemmings following a standard we all know makes zero sense, but we follow because we are afraid not to ?
If you are a CEO , are there not better things your employees could spend money on than multiple suits, ties, dress shirts, dress shoes, dress socks, dry cleaning, and all the other associated costs ? Gee, no suits would be the same as giving your employees a tax free raise. Think that might make them happy ? Or do employees consider having to spend money on suits a perk ?
